1. Read in the textbook, pages 143-148. As you read, jot down in your
World History Journal, the following terms and define:
republic, indemnity, consul, veto, patrician,
plebeian, checks and balances, praetor, censor, tribune, dictator, legion,
paterfamilias, Romulus, Pontifex Maximus.
2. Identify the following places on
your map: Tiber River, Rome, Rubicon River.
