Literature: Click here to read a short biography of Washington Irving. Click here to read the short story "The Devil and Tom Walker" During your reading, begin to use your Literature Journal. You have had practice in recording observations about the short story. You are going to be assigned to write a character analysis of Tom or his wife. This will be due in 1 week. (Lesson 10) So as you read, record character traits in your notebook. Also notice when you read the paragraph numbers. That will help you when you need to use quotes from the story.
